Supervision
Show notes
In today’s episode we are having a look at one of the main factors that has the potential to impact your Doctorate in a huge way, positively or negatively: The Relationship with your Supervisor. They can be a great asset in giving input and criticism and help you write your dissertation. But in the same way, it can also be a cause for issues that, if not dealt with at an early stage, can evolve into a bigger problem.
And that’s why we will talk about it from the beginning: How to find a supervisor, how to find out if they are a good fit for you, and of course vice versa, and what to do if issues should arise.
For that I am joined by Dr. Sabine Schäfer, executive Manager of the BGHS, who sees ideal and less ideal Supervision Relationships in her day-to-day work.
Please don’t forget to follow our podcast if you are interested in everything to do with doing a PhD in Germany!
